Lando Norris finished third and gave McLaren its first podium of the season…
Lando Norris: “A good day! I am happy and proud of the team, because third and fourth places mean a lot of points in the championship. We had a chance for second place, in the first segment Charles took the lead due to a cut, but overall we had a decent pace in the race today.
Ferrari and Carlos did a great job, hats off, they were fast all weekend. But I also felt comfortable while driving, I checked the condition of the tires. I didn’t expect to be on the podium, so I’m very happy.
Obviously this track suits us better, which allowed us to push and gain more speed. But further progress is needed to combat Ferrari and Red Bull. They are still one or two steps ahead of us, but it is clear that we are closing the gap, and we saw that again today.”
