Haas has long talked about the technical innovations the team is preparing for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix. After the race’s finish in France, however, it turned out that only Kevin Magnussen would get new bottom and side pontoons.
Sports director Günther Steiner said the team does not have the opportunity to prepare new items in duplicate, so they will be received by the rider who takes a higher place in the individual classification.
“We were barely able to prepare novelties for one machine,” says Steiner. – This year we have had too many accidents, so we have used up all the materials for the manufacture of spare parts. However, we absolutely need to install new products on one car in Hungary to analyze their effectiveness during the summer holidays.”
In the best case scenario, Mick Schumacher will receive updates during the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of August. At the same time, Mika is also waiting for a fine for replacing the power plant – the team wants Schumacher to send him to Spa.
“If the circumstances do not force us, we will not make a replacement in Budapest,” Steiner concluded.
