In 2026, Honda will return to Formula 1 as the official supplier of the Aston Martin team’s engines. The Japanese carmaker will open a new base in Britain, which will act as a European hub and service powertrains.
The new base will open in Bracknell, south of Aston Martin’s Silverstone base. Recruitment will start this spring.
“The new company, HRC UK, is being established to provide post-race maintenance for Honda-built Formula 1 engines and to act as a logistics hub for the European region,” Honda said in a statement. “The establishment of HRC UK will further enhance the performance of the Honda division as part of its partnership with the Aston Martin team.
In May 2023, Honda and Aston Martin announced a contract under which Honda will supply the Formula 1 team with power units built under new technical regulations that will come into effect in the 2026 season.
HRC UK will begin recruiting engineers, technicians and staff in spring 2024.”
