Former Formula 1 team owner Eddie Jordan made an interesting suggestion about the possible place to continue Carlos Sainz’s career. Speaking on the Formula for Success podcast, Jordan suggested the Spanish driver would sign for Aston Martin, replacing Lance Stroll, the son of team owner Lawrence Stroll, behind the wheel.
Eddie Jordan: “Remember that Carlos started his Formula 1 career at Toro Rosso. If Red Bull loses Max Verstappen or wants to replace Sergio Perez, Carlos could be one of the leading candidates. However, don’t be surprised if you see an all-Spanish driver line-up at Aston Martin next year. The main thing is to remember from whom you first heard about it.
I tell you: if there is no place for Carlos at Red Bull, he will join Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin – I believe in that scenario.
I have no serious proof, but my intuition tells me, which very often differs from other people’s intuition. It sounds beautiful, even romantic, don’t you think?
