Charles Leclerc commented on the theft of a watch

Charles Leclerc answered questions from journalists in Imola on Thursday. The Ferrari driver was asked, among other things, to comment on an incident that took place Monday evening in the Italian municipality of Viareggio – Leclerc was robbed of a luxury Richard Mille watch, the estimated value of which is $320,000.

Charles did not specify the value of the stolen chronograph, but commented on what happened: “I don’t want to go into details as I haven’t had the most enjoyable experience. The police are on a case, they’re trying to find them. In reality, not everything ran as smoothly as I read about it in the press.

Overall, I’m doing well and I’m fully focused on the next stage. What happened doesn’t affect my work this weekend.

Leclerc commented on Ferrari’s decision to extend the contract with his teammate Carlos Sainz until the end of 2024: “I am very happy because Carlos is not only a great driver, but also a good person.

We have a good relationship, we work well together and give the team the same feedback. We have the same requirements for the car with him, which is important for the future of the team as we are both working in the same direction. This has been the case for a year and a half and we are already seeing the benefit of this approach. That’s why it’s great to have Carlos with the team for the next two years.”

Commenting on Ferrari’s challenges ahead of the race weekend at Imola, Charles said: “In the first three races everything went in our favor and we have a fast car. Stage in Imola – home to Ferrari, and in recent years I realized what kind of support we get here. I’m sure the race will be special.

But the important thing is not to overdo it this weekend, which is quite easy given the tension and the fact that things are going as well as possible. You need to stay focused on your work and not try to jump over your head. I hope we have a positive weekend.”
