On the German television channel RTL, Sebastian Vettel said that he occasionally thinks about resuming his racing career. However, the busy calendar of 24 stages and the desire to spend time with family weigh more heavily.
Sebastian Vettel: “Children sometimes say to me: “Dad, don’t do this, because then you are rarely at home.” I have really enjoyed the past year and a half with my family. I hope the kids liked it too. Maybe the mood will change, but for now everything is fine.
Of course, sometimes I think about returning, but it is not an easy decision. The calendar consists of 24 races and I know from my own experience how difficult it is to manage your time if you decide to return.
There’s nothing wrong with having other interests in my life. I’m not just talking about people and relationships with them, but also about different things that I want to know better and that motivate me.”
Vettel added that he occasionally calls Mercedes team leader Toto Wolff: “We call him and discuss the situation at Mercedes. But we didn’t discuss me taking Lewis Hamilton’s place.”
