McLaren and Piastri help save the Great Barrier Reef

McLaren has joined the international environmental program to save the Great Barrier Reef. The R&D aspects will be handled by the team’s engineers, and one of those charged with driving this initiative is Oscar Piastri. That makes sense, because Australia is his home country.

Oscar Piastri: “This is a very special mission for me, especially because this initiative will have to be carried out very close to my home. It’s really good that our team has been able to get involved, because we want to show the fans that we can’t just build the fastest racing cars in the world. We are determined to do more. I think this improves McLaren’s image and is really good for the world. By the way, I’ve never been to the Great Barrier Reef.

Perhaps it wasn’t until I left Australia and moved to Europe that I really began to appreciate and realize the nature of my home country. she needs protection.”

During an interview with Australia’s Channel 9 Today program, Oscar was asked about his calm and down-to-earth personality, which contrasts with the irascible and fiery temper of other racers.

“It’s just the way I approach racing,” replied the 22-year-old Australian. – This helps me achieve the best possible results and make the best decisions. This trait has always characterized me; perhaps I have always been calm and collected.

Of course I want to win all the races, but first I have to at least be on the podium in my home Australian Grand Prix – that is my goal for next year.
