Wolff: Sometimes the car shows high speed

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff spoke about the tasks facing the team at the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.

Toto Wolff: “After a difficult weekend in Australia, it is great to be back on track in Japan this week. After the race in Melbourne we focused on improving the stability of the W15. The car shows high speed at times, but we found it difficult to get out of it at critical moments in the first three races of the season.

In Suzuka, with the combination of fast and slow corners and the height difference, we will have to solve completely different problems than the ones we have already faced this year. So this is a good opportunity to use the knowledge gained from analyzing the Australian stage.

This season we are going to Japan a little earlier than usual. While this is unlikely to have a major impact, it is important to understand how different times of year will affect track conditions.

The one thing that won’t change is the incredible support from the Japanese fans. There is always a fantastic atmosphere at Suzuka and I am sure it will be the same this time.”
