RB is looking forward to the Japanese stage with hope – Daniel Ricciardo was on the podium in Suzuka, and for Yuki Tsunoda this is his home race…
Daniel Ricciardo: “I have always enjoyed performing in Japan. After the Australian Grand Prix I rested at home in Perth for a few days and then went to Tokyo to eat a Wagyu steak with Yuki!
The team and I are working hard and have found several areas of development, so we hope for progress and points. I think every driver is looking forward to coming to Suzuka – there is a great track and incredible fans. Having missed this race last year, I’m looking forward to hitting the track on Friday.”
Yuki Tsunoda: “I’m very excited because my home Grand Prix is just around the corner. The route is very fast and risky. Overshoot a bit and you’ll hit the wall, so there’s a bit of fear, but it’s definitely my favorite song and the one I always miss.
Last year I was able to qualify for the final in Suzuka, but I have not yet earned any points. I hope everything works out this weekend.
We’ll see how it goes, but I’m confident and looking forward to meeting the Japanese fans.”
