At Suzuka, Williams driver Alex Albon said the lack of a spare chassis would not affect his approach to the Japanese weekend.
Alex Albon: “We don’t plan to change anything because the team has been in this position since Bahrain and for us everything remains the same for now. We won’t have a spare car this weekend or in China, but everyone’s general mood is exactly the same as in the first phase of the season.
In Australia we were most hampered by rubber degradation issues, which we were unable to resolve as our time to prepare for the race was limited. Without this we might have acted differently on Sunday.
And yet we see that the car makes a good impression in the races, its behavior is better than last year. This was the case at the first two Grand Prix, although our business in Melbourne was about the same as a year ago. But overall we have made a step forward in terms of race pace and we hope that will continue to be the case this weekend.”
