Schumacher: We expected more at the start of the season

Haas driver Mick Schumacher believes the Hungarian circuit will suit his car and that the team will achieve a high result next weekend.

Q: What do you expect from the VF-22 car on the Hungarian circuit?
Mick Schumacher: I think we will be very strong in Hungary. Last year we performed well in a way, I feel comfortable on this track, there is a nice atmosphere and warm weather, and our car has to look good.

Q: What do you like about the Hungarian circuit?
Mick Schumacher: The circle is quite short with many turns, so there is practically no time to catch your breath. This means that in the whole circle it is necessary to keep the concentration at a very high level.

I have always enjoyed racing at this track, including in Formula 2 and Formula 3. I am looking forward to returning and hoping for a strong performance this year.

Q: How do you rate the first half of the season?
Mick Schumacher: After the first race we were counting on higher positions in the championship than we are now. However, we are gradually closing the gap, so I think at the end of the season we will be just as strong as the beginning.

Most of all I liked the podium in Austria. It turned out to be interesting because we were competitive and I was fighting with a lot of great riders, which in itself is great.

As for the least pleasant moment, I don’t have it. All the unpleasant episodes allow you to gain experience and make you better, so I appreciate them all.

Q: How do you plan to spend your summer vacation?
Mick SchumacherA: I’m going to relax. I will enjoy not having to stick to a tight schedule, meeting friends and trying to recover as much as possible.
