Tsunoda: I don’t know if the new products in Suzuka will help us

Visa RB’s cars are powered by Honda engines and the Japanese Grand Prix is one of the home stages for the Faenza-based team. According to Yuki Tsunoda, the new products that the team brought to Suzuka are mainly intended for other circuits, so it is not yet a fact that they will work.

Yuki Tsunoda: “It’s nice to return to Japan, and even during the cherry blossom season it’s very beautiful here now. And they receive us very well, I have already seen a whole crowd of fans greeting us when our car stopped at a traffic light. I hope I can have a good race to satisfy the local crowd.

I already got a small statue of a racer, and judging by the helmet and overalls, it’s me! (laughs) A very beautiful statue, I think you can take it with you as an amulet.

On three circuits in a row we managed to perform quite consistently, regularly fighting for places in the top ten, so now we also have a confident attitude. In addition, for this weekend we have prepared some technical innovations – I hope they will work effectively.

However, these updates are more likely intended for other circuits, so I don’t know how much they will help us in Suzuka. However, we are quite optimistic and our main goal is to earn points.”
