Max Verstappen retired on the last lap in Melbourne due to brake problems. The Red Bull Racing driver is confident that there will be no problems in Suzuka and that the team will return to its usual form.
Max Verstappen: “We were fast in Melbourne, but I couldn’t reach the finish, which is not ideal. Our car is more suited to fast corners and I hope we can demonstrate speed again this weekend.
On Saturday we saw the first signs of trouble. Some things didn’t look the way they should. Now we already know that the problem turned out to be related to the brake caliper. However, we found nothing that would indicate any fundamental problems with the machine.
Of course, there is nothing good about the meeting, and everything could have turned out worse, but we have drawn conclusions and will try to ensure that such a problem does not arise in the future. Of course this shouldn’t happen, but I’m not worried about next weekend.”
