In France, Charles Leclerc won qualifying for the seventh time this season and thanked team-mate Carlos Sainz for his help…
Charles Leclerc: “I was able to do a great lap! All weekend I struggled, I didn’t manage to put together a good circle, but today Carlos helped me a lot, and it was a nice example of teamwork. Without it, the battle would have been much sharper. So I want to say a big thank you to my teammate and I hope he can join our fight for the win tomorrow.
After the first part of qualifying I was surprised at the pace we were capable of, then we were confident in the second session too – in my opinion it was in qualifying that we were able to reach a turning point. But it came as a pleasant surprise!
The F1-75 left a good impression, while it was difficult for us to understand what Red Bull did with their car yesterday, because the spread of the results was very striking. But we’ll see how it goes tomorrow.”
