In Suzuka the Haas F1 drivers didn’t earn any points – the car didn’t have enough speed…
Nico Hulkenberg (11th): “I don’t think I could have risen above tenth place. Tsunoda at the front was 50 seconds behind Hamilton, so we just didn’t have the speed.
I had a good start and a bad start when the power plant switched to a non-shutdown mode. After that the pace was not bad for the battle in the middle group. First I did a long stint on Hard, then we had a very quick pit stop and we were able to show our speed.
I have a positive opinion about this weekend, everything in the race went better than I expected before the start. I hope for a good result in China.”
Kevin Magnussen (13th): “At one point I was in the top ten. I didn’t know what strategy the others were using, but I gave it my all.
The red flags allowed some of my competitors to change tires without losing time, but I had to change from Medium to Hard twice during the race.
The most important thing is that we are in the fight. I hope to earn points in the coming races.”
