James Vowles: I hope all is well with the chassis

Williams has no spare chassis and a shortage of spare parts. The drivers know they have to be careful, but have been involved in three serious accidents over two race weekends.

At Suzuka, team leader James Vowles said they will be able to showcase at least one car in China, but there are still questions about the second.

James Vowles said: “It is important that Alex was not physically injured in the accident, even though he is mentally depressed by what happened. The technicians took several photos and sent them to the base for analysis. It looks like the car can be restored. But we’ll see how bad it gets when we get the car back to base.

The problem is that the car hit the barrier between the tires, causing it to stop immediately. I hope all is well with the chassis. The aerodynamic innovations installed on the car were unfortunately broken. We have to get them to get back to the starting line.”
