Alpine F1 reserve driver Jack Douhan has done a lot of simulator work this year, he has a big testing program with the 2021 and 2022 cars – and he believes he is fully ready for Formula 1, especially with Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly on the the contract ends at the end of the season.
Jack Duane: “I fought with Liam Lawson and Oliver Berman in Formula 2, they are both great drivers, but I also achieved good results in this series.
I feel very comfortable in a Formula 1 car, I have driven a long distance in different conditions and I feel more than ready, if the opportunity arises to get behind the wheel of the main car, to immediately get a good show results.
Since the beginning of the season I have been working closely with Esteban and Pierre, and I see that our results are very close. Contract negotiations for next year have just begun. The Alpine management communicates with my management, but for now I try not to participate in this and concentrate on the work of the reserve pilot. It is important for the team to see that this work is having the desired effect.”
