Formula E: Training for newcomers begins in Misano

A Formula E double-header will take place at Italy’s Misano circuit this weekend, but the races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday will be preceded by today’s practice session, which will only involve beginners with no experience of driving such electric racing cars in real life. competitive conditions.

This is of course not the only condition: only drivers with an international class B license may participate in the tests. We have published a list of participants of the beginners training in Misano. These sessions allow young drivers to shine and it is likely that some of them will be able to compete regularly in Formula E in the future.

This was the case, for example, with Jehan Daruvala, who took part in such training last year, which took place on the city circuit in Rome, and will compete for the Maserati factory team this season.

Alberto Longoco-founder and director of Formula E: “This is our first time at the beautiful Misano circuit and we welcome the new talented drivers to take to the Formula E podium. Such training not only demonstrates the potential of young drivers, but also underlines our dedication to helping new talent.

In terms of modern technology and innovation, Formula E is one of the leading racing series. We are excited to put our energy into working with the next generation of drivers, giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills in the GEN3 generation cars.”

After today’s rookie training, which lasts just half an hour, special rookie tests will take place next month, immediately after the Berlin round of the World Electric Car Racing Championship. Each Formula E team is required to register at least one driver.
