Newey’s wife wants him to leave Red Bull for Ferrari?

After several weeks of scandalous news about the ‘Horner case’, the situation at Red Bull seemed to be gradually returning to normal, especially Bernie Ecclestone, the former head of Formula 1 management, speaks about this. And even at 93 years old, he is still aware of almost everything that happens in the paddock and beyond.

However, the German publication Auto Bild writes about a somewhat unusual factor that could influence further developments. This factor is Amanda Newey, the South African wife of Adrian Newey, the famous racing car designer who heads the technical department of Red Bull Racing.

She is reportedly terribly angry with Christian Horner, and not just out of female solidarity, because the scandal started due to the fact that one of the Red Bull Racing employees accused the team leader of “inappropriate behavior” – or not only for that reason .

She has her reasons for this: last year, Horner refused her one day when she asked for an entry ticket to the paddock, and a little later Newey said in her presence that Red Bull Racing does not win only because of its contribution to the development of cars . . If this were the case, it would be understandable why the relationship between Horner and the Newey family was disturbed.

However, in a recent interview, Adrian Newey made it clear that working at Red Bull still gives him pleasure: “I think as long as this continues, and the team loves me, I will stay, and we will see.” But at the same time he emphasized that he is not in the habit of making plans for the distant future.

But here’s what’s interesting: according to Auto Bild, Red Bull recently extended the contract with Pierre Vache, the team’s technical director, which is why the French specialist abandoned the idea of moving to another team, although both Mercedes and Ferrari are interested in his services. Indirectly, this may indicate that Milton Keynes is betting on him.

Speaking of Ferrari, Newey was often quoted last year saying he regretted never working with the Scuderia.

“Adrian, this is your chance to get rid of those regrets,” Amanda Newey responded on social media.
