Next week in Monaco, before the Formula E stage, there will be a presentation of a modernized electric racing car called GEN3 Evo, i.e. a slightly updated version of the third generation car, used by teams since last year.
The car will be exhibited in the Mediterranean principality on April 25 and will take part in races from next season. The organizers of the electric series expect that the design improvements will contribute to a clearer and sharper battle on the circuits, as the GEN3 Evo car will have higher speed and dynamic characteristics.
Formula E Chief Executive Jeff Dodds said: “As we prepare to unveil the GEN3 Evo, it will be more than just a car launch – we continue to shape the future of motorsport. This updated version not only underlines our commitment to innovation and our commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology even further, we are also working hard to make our race show even more exciting.”
The intermediate version of the GEN3 Evo will be used by Formula E teams for the next two seasons, with a transition to the fourth generation of cars planned for the second half of 2026. It is already known that the batteries for these electric vehicles will be supplied by Podium Advanced Technologies.
Another Italian company, Marelli, remains the exclusive manufacturer of electric motors that transmit torque to the front wheels, while the rear wheels are driven by power sources whose suppliers the teams choose.
The French company Spark Racing Technology will continue to produce the chassis and instead of Korean Hankook tires, Japanese Bridgestone will be used in the world championship from 2026.
