Before the Chinese Grand Prix, Williams not only restored the cars after accidents in previous stages, but also brought in new items – both drivers get an updated front wing and Alex Albon gets a new Halo.
Alex Albon: “The last few weeks have been difficult for the team, but the staff at base have done everything they can to get us back on track and ready for China, for which I am extremely grateful.
The first Saturday sprint weekend of the season is just around the corner, it will be held at a track where many of us haven’t raced in over five years, and Logan will be racing for the first time. During the preparation we both worked on the simulator, trying to understand the car’s behavior in the tricky first sector, without losing speed on the long straight.
As this is a sprint weekend with limited training, we will focus on utilizing the format and trying to take advantage of this limited number of runs.”
Logan Sargent: “I am very happy to perform in China for the first time. I recently worked on the simulator at Grove to get my bearings on this challenging circuit.
The first sprint weekend of the season is just around the corner, here we only have one training session left, which we have to make the most of to find the optimal settings so that we can be in the right place at the right time.”
