Former leader “Haas” Gunter Steiner has filed a lawsuit against the Formula 1 team for failure to pay during the period 2021 to 2023, reports RacingNews365 .
Steiner has led the team since its inception in 2014. In January, it was announced that the Italian had left Haas.
According to the publication, these are commissions that Steiner did not receive during his third tenure at Haas. The lawsuit claims that “after years of exploiting Steiner’s reputation, experience and deep ties to the sport, Haas cannot deny him the benefits he deserves.” It is also alleged that the team sells merchandise in his image, despite not having received permission to do so.
Haas took last place in the constructors’ championship in the 2023 season.
