At the FIA press conference in Miami, Lance Stroll was asked about the incident he was involved in, which forced Daniel Ricciardo to withdraw from the Miami Grand Prix, with the Canadian himself receiving a 10-second penalty. However, the Canadian Aston Martin driver said he did not want to remember those events.
Lance Stroll: “This is all in the past and now I am fully focused on preparing for the weekend ahead, so I don’t want to comment in detail. The incident certainly happened due to an unfortunate combination of circumstances, you know?
I also wanted to have a good race, but I became part of this story. Also, I won’t talk about whether I had a conversation with Daniel later because these things happen behind closed doors.
I hope we can do better this weekend, although the teams in front of us have of course been very strong since the start of the season, but we still expect a good result.”
When Lance was asked if his father, Lawrence Stroll, actually tried to get Adrian Newey to Aston Martin, he chose not to answer. “Time will tell,” said the Canadian rider.
