Charles Leclerc set the fastest time in the second practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Carlos Sainz confirmed Ferrari’s high speed, taking third in the protocol of the session and losing just over two tenths to his partner.
Charles Leclerc (1st): “Looks like we’re going to have mixed weather this weekend, so on Friday we focused on working with the settings. We also ran a simulated race today as we may not be able to do that in the third session.
Normally in Hungary the asphalt condition changes quickly for the better, today the rate of change was lower than expected. Tomorrow it will be crucial to bring the tires within the working range.”
Carlos Sainz (3rd): “Interesting Friday. In the first practice since leaving the track, the car did well, so I was able to get some very good laps.
In the second practice, we made some adjustments to the settings to choose the best option for Saturday and Sunday. This has changed the feel of the steering a bit, but in terms of balance and speed we are good.
Apparently it’s going to rain tomorrow – we have to be prepared for such conditions. It was a positive day for the team and I’m looking forward to the rest of the weekend.”
