The Alpine team opened the scoring for the earned points

In Miami, the Alpine team opened its points account in 2024 thanks to Esteban Ocon’s tenth place. His teammate Pierre Gasly finished the race twelfth and complained that the safety car had played against him.

Esteban Ocon (10th): “What a race! I had to give 110% to reach the top. Every lap I attacked with all my might. We cannot be 100% satisfied because it is only one point. The team has to keep taking these small steps forward, but considering where we were in Bahrain, 19th and 20th, the team has done a great job.

We did not lose confidence in our abilities, stayed motivated and improved the car step by step. Today we received a reward for the work we have done.

For the first time this season we were able to participate. I have always liked fighting with Fernando Alonso. I know how far you can go with him, how fast we can go side by side.

He was able to overtake me quite quickly, because the battery was simply empty – I told him so! I give credit to Fernando: we had a great battle and I hope there will be many more in the future.”

Pierre Gasly (12th): “The fight with Esteban at the beginning of the race was very tense – we didn’t leave any room for each other. I went off the track, but then I was able to come back – it was a great battle.

The team had a good race, so I’m happy. When the safety car came onto the track, according to our strategy, the driver at the front went into the pits first. Unfortunately for me, the coin fell on the wrong side, but that’s what happens. The most important thing is that the team earned one point – this shows that we are moving forward. The result will motivate everyone. I hope luck is on my side next time.

The car allows you to fight with your opponents and have more control over what happens during the race. I was able to overtake several times, including Fernando at the start. We will continue to make progress – the most important thing is that the team is moving in the right direction.”
