In Miami many complained about the tires, but in the race everything went as Pirelli expected…
Mario IsolaPirelli: “First of all, I would like to congratulate Lando Norris on his first victory in Formula 1. I am sure he will never forget the emotions he experienced in the final laps and on the podium!
Despite first a virtual and then a real safety car, the race turned out to be very simple in terms of tire strategy: very little degradation, regardless of composition, no granulation and only one pit stop.
However, the two most used connections – C2 and C3 – allowed the drivers to attack almost the entire distance, making the race very interesting. Obviously the virtual and real safety car stopped some drivers from executing their intended strategy, some got lucky and some didn’t, but that’s always the case in racing.
We will carefully analyze the data obtained during the three days of the Grand Prix. These can be useful to us in understanding the interaction of tires with different types of track surfaces. Formula 1 is interesting because you can learn something new here every day.”
