A group of businessmen affected by last year’s La Vegas Grand Prix have launched a petition calling for the event to be canceled.
The petition was launched by a group of business owners who said they lost $30 million due to the prolonged closures and traffic problems. Some lost their businesses altogether. We are not talking about a week weekend, but about a much longer time for the equipment of the track, which is dismantled every year.
“We, the undersigned residents and concerned citizens of Las Vegas, are asking local officials to suspend the hosting of the 2024 Grand Prix of Las Vegas from November 21 to 23 until a plan can be developed to host the event without the Las Vegas Strip to close. Until then, the Clark County Commission may not issue a permit for the event,” the petition states.
