Oliver Mintzlaff, responsible for all advertising activities of Austrian energy drink manufacturer Red Bull, commented on Adrian Newey’s decision to leave the team and assessed the prospects for Red Bull Racing to achieve success in 2026 after changing the regulations.
“Of course it is a shame that Adrian is leaving us after almost twenty years of working together, as he has made a major contribution to our success in Formula 1 and helped us win a total of thirteen titles,” Mintzlaff told German Sky. – It’s a shame when such a big personality decides to take a break.
We accept and respect his decision. The connection between us will continue – we have other projects and Adrian will still come to the races. We work together on the RB17 hypercar, but with the Formula 1 team it is a kind of farewell. We part on good terms and who knows what the future will bring.
At Red Bull we love challenges and are happy to take on new ones. When we first announced plans to come to Formula 1 they laughed at us, and now, twenty years later, we have won thirteen titles. In 2026 we, like other teams, face an equally difficult test. I’m confident we can do it and be very successful.”
