On Saturday, the forecast promises rain, so Williams decided to use five sets of slicks on Friday to prepare for the race. But in practice two, Alex Albon first suffered a flat tire on the Soft set before completing a fast lap, and telemetry went out on a long series of laps, after which the team ended work ahead of schedule as a precaution.
Nicholas Latific (18th): “The day was difficult due to the warm weather, but everyone is on an equal footing. We struggled to find the right balance and tried to see if we could make the car faster.
The forecast for Saturday is changeable weather, hopefully we can take advantage of that.”
Alex Albon (20th): “Today it went wrong, I haven’t been able to complete a full short series and had to shorten a long series, but tomorrow is another day. It will probably be rainy, so we’ll be dealing with very different tasks, so the lost time today shouldn’t stop us from doing good for the rest of the days.
