In Miami, McLaren head Zak Brown commented on Adrian Newey’s departure from Red Bull Racing, adding that his team is receiving many CVs from employees of the championship team. Max Verstappen drew attention to Zach’s words and did not leave them without comment.
“It’s clear that Zach wants to shake things up, but there’s nothing our team can do about comments like this,” Max said. “I understand, because everyone wants to get our employees, and this is an absolutely normal situation for Formula 1. However, I am not interested in such things – I see the headlines, but I don’t click on them.”
At the same time, Max Verstappen admits that having a valid contract does not guarantee that one of the employees cannot leave Red Bull Racing to go to another team if he wants: “In life it is impossible to guarantee absolutely everything. Ultimately, I may not wake up tomorrow morning – in life it’s impossible to be 100% sure about everything.
Many contracts are signed, but in the end it comes down to making sure everyone is happy with their work and feels valued by the team. There are a lot of personal aspects involved in this issue.”
