Norris: I’m sure we will fight for the title in 2025

Lando Norris returned to the McLaren base in Woking, where a driver and management meeting with employees was held in honor of the victory in Miami in the presence of the press. Lando said with confidence that McLaren will continue to fight for the top places at individual circuits this year, and will be able to compete with Red Bull Racing in the battle for the title in 2025.

Lando Norris: “This year we will be able to fight with Red Bull and achieve more victories. An exciting battle awaits us between us, Red Bull and Ferrari. But we still have a lot to do because we are not yet at the same level as Red Bull. In some races we will be able to force them to fight, but on average we are not yet in the positions we want to be in. We will continue to assess the situation soberly.

I am 100% sure that we can fight for the title in 2025. When I say this, I stand firmly on my own two feet, but I have absolute confidence in our prospects. I want to believe we have two great drivers, as Zac Brown always says, and a great team.

We are now closer to the leaders than ever. At the beginning of the year I said we could win races. I want to believe and have to be sure that next year we will achieve more, take the next step. But much remains to be done to achieve this, and the team is working with full dedication to achieve the goals.”

When asked if his friendship with Max Verstappen will change if they start seriously competing for the title, Lando replied: “I’m sure our relationship will change. We respect each other and get along well, but we are not best friends and don’t text every day.

We have a lot of respect for each other and I want to fight Max because I think he is one of the best riders ever. If I can prove myself against Max, that means I’ve proven myself against one of the best.”
