British pilot “McLaren” Lando Norris believes his team has the potential to force the fight “Red Bull” and in 2025 will compete for the Manufacturers’ Championship.
Norris won the race in the sixth stage of the Formula 1 championship, the Miami Grand Prix. For him, this victory was the first of the season and of his career. Before that, Norris had 15 Formula 1 podiums.
– Of course, this year we can win more races. I think we can compete with Red Bull. This season we will have an exciting fight between us, Red Bull and Ferrari. I think we still have work to do and we’re not at the level they are yet. There will be races where we will be quite competitive, but right now, on average, we are not yet where we want to be. Will we compete for the Manufacturers’ Championship next year? 100 per cent. I say this with my feet on the ground. “I want to believe we have two great drivers,” Norris told Sky F1.
This season, Norris has scored 83 points and ranks fourth overall, 53 points behind Max Verstapen. McLaren is in third place with 124 points in the constructors’ championship, while Red Bull leads with 239 points.
The next Formula 1 stop will take place in Imola, Italy from May 17-19.
