The Visa RB team, together with its partners from the Italian company Hera Group, reported that recycled carbon fiber has been used in the production of some parts of the cars of Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo. In particular, matrices of such materials were used in the manufacture of the adjustable surfaces of the VCARB 01 front wings.
Hera Group is building a modern factory of this profile in Imola – this is the first factory in Europe where composite materials, especially carbon fiber, will be recycled and made into new parts.
The aim of the Faenza team’s collaboration with a company specialized in such technologies is to make the creation of Formula 1 cars more environmentally friendly. When the new joint project reaches its full capacity, it will reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 150 tons annually.
Enrico FastelliHead of Health and Safety at Visa RB: “Hera Group’s CO2 recycling project fits perfectly with our team’s and Red Bull’s goals to reduce CO2 emissions.
By promoting these types of projects and developing new technologies, we can make motorsport more environmentally friendly and environmentally conscious.”
