The Netherlands is ready for calendar rotation

Despite the great popularity of Max Verstappen, Zandvoort itself pays for the national podium, and is prepared not to hold it every year, if necessary – the circuit’s director Robert van Overdijk told Racingnews365…

Robert van Overdijk: “The decision is up to Formula 1. They have to decide how many European stages are left on the calendar. If they come to the conclusion that Zandvoort can participate in the calendar rotation, I am sure we will find the best option. If they decide that Zandvoort should organize a stage every year, we will discuss that too.

Our Grand Prix has no government support. We pay all bills ourselves. But if there are suitable options that allow us to hold a race every year or every few years, it is worth talking about it.

I think the decision will be made closer to the Dutch Grand Prix (end of August). I don’t think that was the case before, although you never know in Formula 1. There are always a lot of rumors going around.”
