The Sauber team arrived at Imola in last place in the constructors’ championship. At the FIA press conference, team driver Guanyu Zhou told how many tenths need to be played to compete for points.
Guanyu Zhou: “Our gap varies from circuit to circuit. In Shanghai, Valtteri qualified in the top ten, so we don’t have much time to play – we’re talking a few tenths.
In Miami we were about half a second short, but that was due to the characteristics of the track, the asphalt and the temperature. I believe that if we manage to gain about two tenths of a second, we will be in a much better situation.
The battle in the peloton is very exciting, so if we manage to reach the second part of qualifying, we will aim for ninth or tenth place at the start. With such fierce competition, it is necessary to maximize every detail, and that is what we strive for.”
