The Italian company Ducati honored the memory of Ayrton Senna by dedicating a special version of the motorcycle to the great Brazilian racer, which will be produced in a limited edition of 341 copies.
The Ducati Monster model has been produced since 1993 and has long become a classic. This is a Naked category motorcycle, i.e. It was originally conceived and designed to be used with virtually no additional body kit, improving both aesthetics and aerodynamics.
This model is impressive in itself and once Senna, who was a fan of the Ducati brand, became one of the first owners of such a motorcycle.
It is symbolic in its own way that the presentation of the Monster Senna took place in Imola.
“Ayrton Senna was a passionate fan of the Ducati brand and was one of the first owners of the Monster 900, which ideally represented the important characteristics of style, daring and riding pleasure,” said the makers of the special edition motorcycles. “Ducati pays tribute to Ayrton Senna with this collector’s edition of the Monster, limited to just 341 examples, as he won 3 world titles and 41 Formula 1 victories.”

This is not the first time that Ducati has given its name to its motorcycles: in the second half of the 90s, the company, headquartered in Bologna, capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, produced a special version of the 916 -fashion model. , and it was personally approved by Senna shortly before his tragic death. In 2014, 20 years after that fateful event that shocked the entire world, Ducati introduced the flagship superbike model 1199 Panigale S Senna. Only 161 were built, and all were sold only in the Brazilian market.
But it is known that at least two such motorcycles have come to Europe: the owner of one of them is Max Biaggi, six-time circuit motorcycle racing world champion, and the second is in the collection of Sebastien Ogier, winner of 8 world rally championship titles.
The Ducati Monster Senna version features a lower weight, a 111 hp twin-cylinder engine, a tuned suspension, carbon fiber exhaust pipes and powerful Brembo brakes with ABS. In general, the motorcycle is literally packed with the most modern electronics.
In addition to the characteristic color scheme, Ayrton Senna is also reminiscent of his well-known logo on the stylish windscreen and on the body parts of the rear of the car.
According to the manufacturer, the price of such a motorcycle in Italy will be 25 thousand euros.
