The Monegasque achieves the best lap in 1 minute 16.990 seconds, ahead of the British driver George Russell from Mercedes (+0.104) and his Spanish teammate Carlos Sainz (+0.130).
Current Formula 1 champion and season leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull) finished fifth (+0.250). The winner of the last Miami Grand Prix, Lando Norris (McLaren), posted the eighth result (+0.612).
The Ferrari team brought a raft of technical updates home.
The Formula 1 Imola round takes place from May 17 to 19 at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit.
