Alex Albon: The car drives like it’s on rails

The Williams team was hampered by various difficulties during practice at Imola and the drivers’ results were not impressive, but Alex Albon was at least satisfied with the car’s behavior.

Alex Albon (18th): “It’s clear that, after the electrical problems that prevented me in the first session, we are a little behind the track work schedule. It took some time to resolve the issue, but the team did a great job and I was able to get behind the wheel again.

The situation is not simple, although the car actually makes an excellent impression. I don’t know what this is due to, the characteristics of the track or the influence of the wind, but I have the feeling that the FW46 drives as if it were on rails.

I showed the 18th time, which means I have to keep working. Despite the difficulties, I enjoy it. It’s great that we’re finally racing on a normal track. It won’t be easy for us this weekend, but I’m happy with our progress – let’s hope we can improve even more.”

Logan Sargent (20th): “Of course in the second practice we had serious problems and only managed to complete two laps with a small amount of fuel, but even on that we could not achieve optimal tire performance. This is the main problem that needs to be addressed.

The car is well balanced, but not everything works as it should and this still needs to be sorted out. I really enjoy driving this track, it’s really cool. Tomorrow is a difficult day, but we will do everything we can to perform as well as possible.”
