On Friday, Haas F1 worked with three drivers – in the first session, Kevin Magnussen was temporarily replaced by Oliver Berman…
Oliver Berman (15th in the first session): “I am very satisfied with my performance in the first training. The session was shorter due to red flags, but I got used to the car. This weekend I drove around the circuit in both Formula 2 and Formula 1, which took me to a higher level.
All the work we do behind the scenes is paying off and I felt very comfortable already in the first few laps. The long series of laps also went well, I felt the clear progress of the car compared to last year.”
Nico Hulkenberg (9th): “In the morning we did some work with the aerodynamic sensors to collect data to compare the efficiency rating of our car. In the second session we returned to the regular program and everything went fine.
The wind was very strong today, which affected the car’s grip on the asphalt and made steering difficult. But I love racing on this track. It feels great!”
Kevin Magnussen (17th): “Imola is a great circuit to drive, although not easy. The results are solid, especially in the middle group. I was only three or four tenths behind Red Bull and finished seventeenth.
With each lap you manage to improve your results, just like on street circuits, even if it is stationary. The song is rough and raw, which I really like.”
