Verstappen set fastest time in qualifying for Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Piastri finished second

Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen first shown during qualifying for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy.

The current Formula 1 champion and season leader set his fastest lap in 1 minute 14.746 seconds. McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri (+0.074) and Lando Norris (+0.091) are next in the protocol, respectively.

In the second segment, the fight was completed by Mexican Red Bull driver Sergio Perez, who took 11th place.

Verstappen equaled three-time world champion Ayrton Senna’s record for most consecutive pole positions (8).
