Valtteri Bottas was spotted at Imola on Saturday at the Williams Motorhome. Journalists estimate that the Sauber driver spoke for at least fifteen minutes with the head of the British team, James Vowles. Given that the Finn is looking for options to continue his career, there were immediate assumptions that Valtteri would become Alex Albon’s partner in 2025.
After qualifying, Bottas was asked how often he communicates with his rivals’ management. To this Valtteri replied: “Sometimes! James is my good friend. Our camper was out of coffee, so I had to go to them.”
When the press started asking Valtteri about the details of the conversation with Vowles, he replied: “We discussed ordinary things, talked about life. When there are vacancies on the pilot market, you always want to check what is going on. This is a completely normal situation.
But now it’s my job to make the most of the technology at my disposal. We have to analyze the results of qualifying and think about how we can compete for points.”
