Nico Hulkenberg was fast during qualifying at Imola and qualified for the final, while Kevin Magnussen was eliminated again in the first session…
Nico Hulkenberg (10th): “I’m happy to have reached the final again. I’m not completely satisfied with the last fastest lap, but in Imola it’s very easy to make a mistake. In the race I will try to defend this position and earn points.
On Friday we rode at a good pace during the long series of laps. This weekend the results of the middle group teams are very close, but overtaking in Imola is difficult – a lot depends on the start and the position on the track.”
Kevin Magnussen (18th): “I don’t know what’s going on this year, but it continues and eventually it has to stop. It doesn’t seem like we’re doing anything special compared to others, but out of the seven qualifying sessions, in five sessions I ended up on the exact lap that should have been the fastest.
It’s a difficult track to overtake, it looks like we’re in for a one-stop race, but we’ll see what happens.”
