Daniel Ricciardo starts ninth at Imola and hopes for points…
Daniel Ricciardo: “I just saw a flag in the stands that said: “Daniel, I’m here especially for you!”, so I feel loved at Imola. And I love racing in Italy because it’s always fun here.
Moreover, I lived in this country for several years and know very well that Italian fans love motorsport. And even though the crowd in the stands is largely in the red, the atmosphere here is still great.
Lately our car has allowed us to perform more consistently, and today we start from the top ten – we must try to take full advantage of all opportunities and earn points.
If we manage to regain positions, we will of course do so and if both our team’s cars finish in the top ten, the day can be considered successful. I would like to believe that we will be able to overtake, even if it is not easy in Imola, but I still think the public will see some overtaking. Let’s hope the race will be interesting.”
