Haas F1 has prepared a major update of the car for the Hungarian Grand Prix – the novelty was tested by Kevin Magnussen this weekend, but the difference from Mick Schumacher’s previous car was small.
Kevin Magnussen (13th): “The goal is always the same: to make it to the qualifying final, but it seems we were less competitive this weekend than usual. The team has worked hard on innovations, but it always takes time to learn to use them as effectively as possible.
At the beginning of the 13th you can fight for points. We have a good pace on the long distance, in the second practice the car looked even better with more fuel than with empty tanks. I want to enjoy the fight and take every chance to win back.”
Mick Schumacher (15th): “Qualifying was harder than I expected. We have a good car, in the race there is always the opportunity to win back, but how high we can break is a big question. If there is no safety car tomorrow it will be difficult to overtake, but we will try.”
