McLaren has developed a special version of the car’s livery in memory of Ayrton Senna. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will drive these MCL38s in Monaco.
This car design, which combines bright yellow, green and blue colors, was developed in collaboration with the Senna Brand company and the team’s partners – the world of motorsport has known this color scheme for more than 40 years from the design of the helmet of the great Brazilian racer.
It is symbolic that McLaren cars will look like this in Monaco, because Senna won this Grand Prix six times. Drivers and team staff will also wear a special version of the uniform this weekend, and fans can purchase limited-edition merchandise dedicated to Ayrton Senna and his role in the team’s history.
Zac Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing: “With this new McLaren car design, we proudly celebrate the outstanding achievements of Ayrton Senna. He remains one of Formula 1’s greatest heroes and one of McLaren’s most successful drivers. His importance to McLaren is enormous, and not just because of his sporting results; his memory and his legacy will remain with us forever. We consider it an honor to dedicate this race to him and at the circuit where he achieved so much success, we will race in his colors.”
