Mattia Binotto had conversations with Lawrence Stroll

During the race weekend in Imola, Mattia Binotto was among the guests of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit, actively communicating with many of his old acquaintances and former colleagues.

His last race as Ferrari team boss was the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, after which Binotto was on compulsory leave, formally known as “garden leave” in Formula 1. In his case, this can be taken literally, as he has his own vineyards and is engaged in wine making.

But this period may be coming to an end: as the Italian press writes, Mattia Binotto was spotted at Aston Martin’s camper, where he had a long conversation with Lawrence Stroll, the owner of this British team. It is emphasized that this did not seem like a courtesy call, and it is likely that the Canadian billionaire may be interested in such a specialist who is distinguished by universal skills, i.e. he has extensive experience in both engineering and management.

Before that, there were rumors that Binotto could join the new Audi project in Formula 1, and when Alpine parted ways with Otmar Szafnauer, it was rumored that he had received an offer to lead the factory team of the Renault group, and now new Versions are being put forward about his possible employment. Only time will tell what decision the Italian engineer (who was born in Switzerland, by the way) will make.
