Ferrari racer Charles Leclerc finished first at his home Monaco Grand Prix.
For the Monegasque, this is the sixth victory of his career in Formula 1 and the first since the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix. Previously, during all his performances on his native track, Leclerc had never been on the podium, although he won pole position three times. Before this Grand Prix, his best result in Monaco was fourth place.
The Australian McLaren driver took second place. Oscar Piastri the first three winners were completed by the Spaniard KArlos Sainz of Ferrari. Championship leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull) finished sixth.
During the first lap of the race, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez and Haas drivers Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg were involved in a major accident. Additionally, French Alpine driver Esteban Ocon withdrew from the race due to damage to his car.
The next stage of the Formula 1 championship will take place from June 7 to 9 in Montreal, Canada.
