Oscar Piastri finished second in Monaco, repeating his best result of his career. The McLaren’s high speed was confirmed by Lando Norris, who finished the race on the city circuit in fourth, one and a half seconds behind his teammate.
Oscar Piastri (2nd): “Difficult race. We kept the pace incredibly slow in the beginning. At one point, hope flashed for the tunnel [выйти вперед]but my car isn’t small enough to squeeze through that hole!
Thanks to the team. We had a great weekend, it’s nice to end it with a great result. I have performed strongly in recent weekends, but I was unable to match the results. It’s great to be on stage!
Charles was incredibly fast all weekend – the Ferrari car was fast from the first lap. I’m happy with second place. A good result for the team, I am very happy.”
Lando Norris (4th): “The red flags simplified everything and made the race less eventful than normal in Monaco.
The team achieved a good result. Given how the race went, it was hard to expect more. Afterwards you always think about what you could have done or should have done, but it is impossible to answer all the questions correctly. We did what we could and I think the car was fast today. We will continue to attack.
The team’s fourth and second place is a great result.”
