Alex Albon and Nicholas Latifi finished 17th and 18th in Hungary. Williams drivers said it was difficult to count on a better result due to the strong degradation of rubber.
Alex Albon (17th): “The race went well. In the first laps there were some problems due to minor damage, then a strong degradation of the rubber started – we had to make a lot of pit stops, which didn’t simplify the task. The weekend turned out to be difficult, but we learned a lot and continued to understand the car’s strengths and weaknesses.
If you evaluate the season as a whole, then I’m satisfied – everything is going better than I expected, so I’m going to the summer holidays in a good mood. Of course we are not in the position we want on track, but now we have time to rest and come back stronger after the break.”
Nicholas Latific (18th): “Unfortunately a damage to the front wing at the start ruined my race. The damage was minor, but it resulted in more rubber degradation than we had hoped. In addition, the wind deteriorated the balance – we have to find a solution to this problem in the second half of the season.
Not the best way to start the summer holidays, but we have time to re-energize and recharge in Spa.”
