Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner expects to resolve the car’s handling issues, which became particularly acute on the Monaco city circuit when attacking curbs, with the help of upcoming updates.
Christian Horner: “Car updates are a continuous process and our focus changes depending on the problems identified by the team. Therefore, now much attention will be paid to the questions of why we have problems with drivability and why the car has problems attacking curbs.
The VCARB team car has last year’s suspension and they don’t have any such problems. Therefore, we need to understand if our problems are related to something we recently installed on the machine.
We release small updates all the time, but at some point the development curve peaks and there is diminishing returns with each update. And of course we have to take into account cost constraints, so we have to be selective when introducing new products.”
